Crow Wing County was founded in 1857 and was created by taking area from Ramsey County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Crow Wing had a population of 65,191 people. This is an increase of 4.31% since the last Census (which gave a population of 62,500 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Crow Wing represented 1.18% of the total population of Minnesota.
