The community of Anoka is the Seat for Anoka County.

Anoka County was founded in 1857 and was created by taking area from Ramsey County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Anoka had a population of 356,921 people. This is an increase of 7.69% since the last Census (which gave a population of 331,437 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Anoka represented 6.25% of the total population of Minnesota.
