The community of Charlevoix is the Seat for Charlevoix County.
Charlevoix County was founded April 2, 1869 and was created by taking area from Emmet County.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Charlevoix had a population of 26,202 people. This is an increase of 0.97% since the last Census (which gave a population of 25,949 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Charlevoix represented 0.26% of the total population of Michigan.
