Bay County was founded April 20, 1857. Bay was created by taking area from Saginaw and Midland Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Bay had a population of 102,964 people. This is a decrease of 4.46% since the last Census (which gave a population of 107,771 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Bay represented 1.09% of the total population of Michigan.
