So far, we found very little information about Point Lookout. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Point Lookout , we believe that it would have been located within present day Saint Mary's County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Point Lookout, you might consider that their post office opened in 1860.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Point Lookout was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Point Lookout post office opened in 1860.

We also found Point Lookout in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
