At the time of the 2010 Census, Aberdeen had a population of 14,959 people (which is 6.11% of the total population of Harford County). This makes Aberdeen the county's most populous community.

The population of Aberdeen represents 0.26% of the total population of Maryland (which has 5,773,552 people), making it the state's 18th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 14,959 people, the population of Aberdeen increased 8.07% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 13,842 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Aberdeen was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Aberdeen post office opened in 1862.
