Red River Parish was founded in 1871. Red River was created by taking area from Bienville, Bossier, Caddo and Natchitoches Parishes. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Red River had a population of 8,380 people. This is a decrease of 7.82% since the last Census (which gave a population of 9,091 people in 2010).
