From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Long Run was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>
From that list, the Long Run post office opened in 1828.
We also found Long Run in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
