At the time of the 2010 Census, Danville had a population of 16,218 people (which is 57.04% of the total population of Boyle County). This makes Danville the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Danville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Danville post office opened in 1792.
