Meade County was founded in 1823. Meade was created by taking area from Breckinridge and Hardin Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Meade had a population of 28,572 people. This is a decrease of 0.49% since the last Census (which gave a population of 28,714 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Meade represented 0.66% of the total population of Kentucky.
