Hart County was founded in 1819. Hart was created by taking area from Hardin and Barren Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Hart had a population of 19,035 people. This is an increase of 4.66% since the last Census (which gave a population of 18,188 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Hart represented 0.42% of the total population of Kentucky.
