Bracken County was founded in 1796. Bracken was created by taking area from Mason and Campbell Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Bracken had a population of 8,303 people. This is a decrease of 2.47% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,513 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Bracken represented 0.2% of the total population of Kentucky.
