Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Corbin had an population of 7,176 people. This is a decrease of 1.75% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 7.31% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Corbin had a population of 7,304 people (or 20.5% of the total population of Whitley County). This makes Corbin the county's most populous community.

The population of Corbin represents 0.17% of the total population of Kentucky (which has 4,339,367 people), making it the state's 53rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 7,304 people, the population of Corbin decreased 5.66% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 7,742 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Corbin was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Corbin post office opened in 1885.

We also found Corbin in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
