Wyandotte County was founded in 1859. Wyandotte was created by taking area from Leavenworth and Johnson Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Wyandotte had a population of 166,009 people. This is an increase of 5.4% since the last Census (which gave a population of 157,505 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Wyandotte represented 5.52% of the total population of Kansas.
