Gray County was founded March 13, 1881. Gray was created by taking area from Finney and Ford Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Gray had a population of 5,996 people. This is a decrease of 0.17% since the last Census (which gave a population of 6,006 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Gray represented 0.21% of the total population of Kansas.
