Douglas County is one of the original counties of Kansas and was founded August 25, 1855.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Douglas had a population of 122,269 people. This is an increase of 10.33% since the last Census (which gave a population of 110,826 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Douglas represented 3.88% of the total population of Kansas.
