Dubois County was founded December 20, 1817. Dubois was created by taking area from Perry and Pike Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Dubois had a population of 42,736 people. This is an increase of 1.98% since the last Census (which gave a population of 41,905 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Dubois represented 0.65% of the total population of Indiana.
