From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Grand Crossing was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Grand Crossing post office opened in 1872.

We also found Grand Crossing mentioned on a train schedule titled Michigan Central Railroad Time Tables (May 1892).
