Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Cave-In-Rock had an population of 281 people. This is a decrease of 11.64% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.79% since the 2000 Census).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Cave-In-Rock had a population of 318 people (or 7.36% of the total population of Hardin County). This makes Cave-In-Rock the county's 2nd most populous community.
With a 2010 count of 318 people, the population of Cave-In-Rock decreased 8.09% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 346 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cave-In-Rock was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>
From that list, the Cave-In-Rock post office opened in 1849.
We also found Cave-In-Rock in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
