While our initial data about Birds came from various goverment sources (GNIS, US Census, FIPS), we also found mention of Birds in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Birds. We hope that they will be useful to you.

Birds is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Birds post office opened in 1883.
