Welcome to Steamboat ...So far, we found very little information about Steamboat. The location of Steamboat has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While the community is gone, the present day location for Steamboat is 2,660 feet [811 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Steamboat is ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Steamboat was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Steamboat (for example, toward Thompson Falls (MT)), you will leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT). If Steamboat still existed, it would have been in the (208) and (986)<5> area codes.
