From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Hamer was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Hamer post office opened in 1909.

We also found Hamer mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
