The community of Shoshone is the Seat for Lincoln County.

Lincoln County was founded in 1895 and was created by taking area from Logan County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Lincoln had a population of 5,325 people. This is an increase of 2.25% since the last Census (which gave a population of 5,208 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lincoln represented 0.33% of the total population of Idaho.
