Time Zone: Caribou County lies in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Soda Springs is the Seat for Caribou County.

Caribou County was founded in 1919 and was created by taking area from Bannock County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Caribou had a population of 7,149 people. This is an increase of 2.67% since the last Census (which gave a population of 6,963 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Caribou represented 0.44% of the total population of Idaho.
