Turner County was founded in 1905. Turner was created by taking area from Irwin, Wilcox and Worth Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Turner had a population of 7,985 people. This is a decrease of 10.38% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,910 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Turner represented 0.09% of the total population of Georgia.
