Pierce County was founded in 1857. Pierce was created by taking area from Appling and Ware Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Pierce had a population of 19,465 people. This is an increase of 3.45% since the last Census (which gave a population of 18,815 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Pierce represented 0.19% of the total population of Georgia.
