Time Zone: Floyd County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Rome is the Seat for Floyd County.

Floyd County was founded in 1832 and was created by taking area from Cherokee County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Floyd had a population of 98,325 people. This is an increase of 2.08% since the last Census (which gave a population of 96,317 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Floyd represented 0.99% of the total population of Georgia.
