Floyd County was founded in 1832 and was created by taking area from Cherokee County.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Floyd had a population of 98,325 people. This is an increase of 2.08% since the last Census (which gave a population of 96,317 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Floyd represented 0.99% of the total population of Georgia.
