Crisp County was founded in 1905 and was created by taking area from Dooly County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Crisp had a population of 22,382 people. This is a decrease of 4.51% since the last Census (which gave a population of 23,439 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Crisp represented 0.24% of the total population of Georgia.
