Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Hollywood had an population of 155,008 people. This is an increase of 10.12% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 11.23% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Hollywood had a population of 140,768 people (which is 8.05% of the total population of Broward County). This makes Hollywood the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Hollywood represents 0.75% of the population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 12th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 140,768 people, the population of Hollywood increased 1.01% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 139,357 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Hollywood was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Hollywood post office opened in 1922.

We also found Hollywood mentioned on a train schedule titled New York Central Railroad Time Table (April 1950).
