Saint Lucie County was founded March 14, 1844.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Saint Lucie had a population of 328,063 people. This is an increase of 18.1% since the last Census (which gave a population of 277,789 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Saint Lucie represented 1.48% of the total population of Florida.
