Osceola County was founded May 12, 1887. Osceola was created by taking area from Brevard and Orange Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Osceola had a population of 375,751 people. This is an increase of 39.25% since the last Census (which gave a population of 269,837 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Osceola represented 1.44% of the total population of Florida.
