From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Okeechobee had a population of 42,168 people. This is an increase of 5.35% since the last Census (which gave a population of 40,025 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Okeechobee represented 0.21% of the total population of Florida.
