Broward County was founded April 30, 1915. Broward was created by taking area from Dade and Palm Beach Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Broward had a population of 1,952,778 people. This is an increase of 11.41% since the last Census (which gave a population of 1,752,803 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Broward represented 9.32% of the total population of Florida.
