Welcome to Chetwynd ...

So far, we found very little information about Chetwynd. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Chetwynd to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Chetwynd , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lake County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Chetwynd, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Chetwynd was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

X2X - From that list, the Chetwynd post office opened in 1887.

We also found Chetwynd in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
