Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Ordway had an population of 1,032 people. This is a decrease of 4.44% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 17.31% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Ordway had a population of 1,080 people (which is 18.43% of the total population of Crowley County). This makes Ordway the county's most populous community.

The population of Ordway represents 0.02% of the total population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 139th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,080 people, the population of Ordway decreased 13.46% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,248 people).
