Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Meeker had an population of 2,328 people. This is a decrease of 5.94% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 3.84% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Meeker had a population of 2,475 people (which is 37.13% of the total population of Rio Blanco County). This makes Meeker the county's most populous community.

The population of Meeker represents 0.05% of the population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 100th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,475 people, the population of Meeker increased 10.39% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,242 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Meeker was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Meeker post office opened in 1880.
