So far, we found very little information about Ludlow. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Ludlow would have been located within present day Las Animas County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Ludlow, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1896.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Ludlow is 6,280 feet [1,914 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Ludlow is about 1¼ mile [or ~2 km] above sea level.

We originally found mention of Ludlow in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ludlow was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Ludlow post office opened in 1896.

We also found Ludlow on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1939.
