The community of Delta is the Seat for Delta County.

Delta County was founded February 11, 1883 and was created by taking area from Gunnison County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Delta had a population of 31,021 people. This is an increase of 0.22% since the last Census (which gave a population of 30,952 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Delta represented 0.62% of the total population of Colorado.
