While our initial data about Chimney Rock came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Chimney Rock in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

Chimney Rock is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Chimney Rock post office opened in 1950 and had closed by 1967.
