Unfortunately our sources aren't clear about the location of Anthracite other than they indicate that Anthracite would be found somewhere in Gunnison County, Colorado. From the Blevins / Hellbock List: The post office opened in 1884 and closed in 1896. Communities Also Named Anthracite ...We found two communities that share the name Anthracite. Within Colorado, the name Anthracite is unique. Beyond Colorado, we know of another two communities that are located throughout in the United States and Canada. Of these two communities, one is located in the United States and the other in Canada.
