Welcome to Eholt ...

So far, we found very little information about Eholt. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Eholt was founded in 1898.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Eholt: Named after Louis Eholt, who provided the land for the village.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Eholt is 3,000 feet [914 m] above sea level.<2> In other words, the altitude of Eholt is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Eholt was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time. The time zone in French: PST- Heure Normale du Pacifique (HNP).

Adding Eholt to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Eholt was on a map titled Map of British Columbia (from Gulf Refining, 1925).

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Eholt, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>The elevation is an estimate for the area around Eholt - it will be higher in some places and lower in others.
<3>When there's a risk of an area code running out of phone numbers, an 'Overlay Area Code' is created that has the same geographic boundaries as the existing area code. In this case, the 250 code has been Overlayed with one of the following codes: 236, 672 or 778. New phone numbers in the Eholt area will be assigned with one of these codes: 250, 236, 672 or 778.
