While we don't have a date for the founding of Zinc, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1900.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Zinc has a population of 102 people<3> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Zinc had an population of 102 people. This is a decrease of 0.97% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 34.21% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Zinc had a population of 103 people. This makes Zinc the county's 10th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 103 people, the population of Zinc increased 35.53% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 76 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Zinc was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Zinc post office opened in 1900.
