From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gum Springs was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>
From that list, the Gum Springs post office opened in 1878.
We also found Gum Springs on a map titled William Bradley Map (1889).
