Time Zone: Searcy County lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Marshall is the Seat for Searcy County.

Searcy County was founded in 1838 and was created by taking area from Marion County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Searcy had a population of 7,862 people. This is a decrease of 4.06% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,195 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Searcy represented 0.28% of the total population of Arkansas.

While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
