Scott County was founded in 1833. Scott was created by taking area from Crawford and Pope Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Scott had a population of 10,281 people. This is a decrease of 8.82% since the last Census (which gave a population of 11,275 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Scott represented 0.39% of the total population of Arkansas.
