At the time of the 2010 Census, Avoca had a population of 488 people. This makes Avoca the county's 18th most populous community.

The population of Avoca represents 0.02% of the total population of Arkansas (which has 2,915,918 people), making it the state's 276th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 488 people, the population of Avoca increased 15.37% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 423 people).

We originally found mention of Avoca in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Avoca was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Avoca post office opened in 1872.

We also found Avoca on a map titled William Bradley Map (1889).
