While we don't have a date for the founding of Tombigbee, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1884.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Tombigbee is 210 feet [64 m] above sea level.<4>.

We originally found mention of Tombigbee in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Tombigbee was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Tombigbee post office opened in 1884.

We also found Tombigbee in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
