While our initial information about Saint Elmo came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Saint Elmo in various books and other sources.

Services available in 1895: had a Post Office, a Railroad Station, an Express Office

Saint Elmo is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>
