Welcome to Prentice ...

So far, we found very little information about Prentice. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Prentice to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Prentice - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Prentice, please Contact Us.


While we don't have the exact location of Prentice , we believe that it would have been located within present day Marengo County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Prentice, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1906.

Time Zone: The area where Prentice was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 5 communities that are also named Prentice - they are located in Illinois, Ohio (2), Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Prentice was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

X2X - From that list, the Prentice post office opened in 1906.

We also found Prentice on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Alabama (1911).
