So far, we found very little information about Mud Creek. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Mud Creek would have been located within present day Jackson County<2>.


The location of Mud Creek has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Mud Creek, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Mud Creek is 670 feet [204 m] above sea level.<4>.

We originally found mention of Mud Creek in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mud Creek was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Mud Creek post office opened in 1888.

We also found Mud Creek in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
